Pretoria’s Bongani Zulu should be a familiar name to anyone acquainted with Gauteng dancefloors over the last couple years. He has appeared on many of the province’s most esteemed promoters lineups, his recent appearance at Jozi’s leading dance night TOYTOY being no exception.

He makes his first appearance on Stephan Viljoen’s (Jacks Cab) Round Robin Recordings with his new Voortrekker EP, named in homage of his hometown. The 3 tracks all hold a very atmospheric vibe to them and the first 2 could slot into a dub techno set with ease. Die Voortrekker is the slower of the two: meditative and hypnotic. Room To Breathe brings things the tempo up while maintaining the ambient style, while closer The Mouth Of The Whale goes in a warmer, analogue style direction.

The release will also mark the label’s first ever vinyl release, which you can order direct from the label online.
